Description

Starting since 1998 a comfortable train "El Chepe" every day departs on a route Chihuahua – Los Mochis to take you to places that are truly works of art of nature and where one of the most beautiful canyons in the world – Copper Canyon – is. You will get acquainted with the natural habitat of the native inhabitants – the Tarahumara Indians who live in mountain caves. During the trip you will have the opportunity to admire the beautiful views: proud mountains, picturesque bridges, rivers, waterfalls, and fantastically beautiful rock formations. You will see the most spectacular landscapes in the world. This region, which is three times more than the Grand Canyon in the USA, is world famous and attracts thousands of tourists every year.

Day 1. Mexico City

Meeting at the airport of Mexico City. Transfer to the hotel, rest.

Day 2. Mexico City

Breakfast at the hotel.

City tour: the visit of the city's main square Zocalo, the main Catholic Cathedral of the country; the Presidential Palace with murals by Diego Rivera, in which he has told about the history of Mexico since pre-Columbian times to the XX century. You will see the ruins of the pyramid Templo Mayor and hear the story of the bloody sacrifices of the Aztecs. Next, the way lies to the pyramids of the Sun and Moon in Teotihuacan. The unknown and powerful civilization began a new era, currently baffling the scientists and researchers with high level of knowledge of mathematics and astronomy...

On the way back you will visit the places of pilgrimage of all Catholics of the world (the second after Vatican) – the Shrine of Virgin of Guadalupe, which had taken under the protection of the indigenous people of America.

Return to the hotel.

Day 3. Mexico City – Chihuahua

Breakfast at the hotel.

Transfer to the airport for the flight to the city of Chihuahua, the capital of the largest and one of the richest states of Mexico. On arrival – meeting at the airport.

A brief city tour: visit of the Cathedral, the Governor's Palace, Museum of the Revolution, also known as House Museum of Pancho Villa – the national rebel who became a general.

Day 4. Chihuahua – Creel

Breakfast at the hotel.

Transfer to the railway station to board the train to Creel Station. Creel is the old town of woodcutters, surrounded by pine forests.

A visit of the caves where the Tarahumara Indians live. They are local residents who have kept their language, culture and traditions. Also you will visit the Elephant rock, Arareco Lake, waterfall Cusarare, Mushrooms and Frogs Valley.

Day 5. Creel - Copper Canyon

Breakfast.

Transfer by train to Copper Canyon.

Sightseeing tour: a visit of the "balancing" stone Piedra Volada, the park "Barrancas del Cobre", a travel by cable car over the precipice of the canyon.

Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.

Day 6: Copper Canyon - El Fuerte

Breakfast at the hotel.

Transfer by train to the town of El Fuerte. Founded in XVI century, this green and quiet town with stunning colonial architecture and lush mango trees made a fortune in the mines at the beginning of the XIX century.

Day 7

Breakfast at the hotel.

Transfer to the airport of the city of Los Mochis.

The price includes:

  • accommodation according to the program of tour in the specified hotels or in the similar ones;
  • breakfast ("buffet" or "American");
  • Russian-speaking guide throughout the trip;
  • tours of the program;
  • tickets for the train "El Chepe";
