Pico de Orizaba mountaineering

The Pico de Orizaba, also known as Citlaltepetl, reaching a height of 5636 m above sea level, is the highest peak in Mexico. The volcanic cone, triangular sign resting against the sky, many centuries ago had served as a landmark which can be seen from the shores of modern Veracruz, approaching to the mysterious Aztec empire.

Today Pico de Orizaba can promise you a wealth of experience, vivid memories, and spiritual enrichment through the personal achievement. Climbing to the peak will become that event in your life which you’ll remember with pride and affection.

Day 1

Climb up to Piedra Grande, the base at the Pico de Orizaba. Lunch, dinner and transportation 4x4 are included.

Day 2

Acclimatization. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.

Day 3

Climbing to the top of the Pico de Orizaba. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.

The program includes:

- Transport
- Collective equipment (ropes, stoves, cookware, first aid kit, radio communication equipment)

The program does not include:

Personal equipment required:

- A pair of fine underwear
- A pair of warm underwear
- Sweatshirt of fleece or Polartec materials
- Jacket of Gore-Tex or similar material
- Waterproof trousers
- A pair of thin gloves
- A pair of thick gloves
- Warm hat
- 2 pairs of ordinary socks
- 2 pairs of wool socks
- Sleeping bag

- Sunglasses with UV-protection
- Headlamp with new and spare batteries
- Sunscreen with a factor of 30 +
- Two 1 liter bottles for water transportation
