Day 1. Mexico City

Arrive in Mexico City. Meeting at the airport.

A brief tour of the city: you’ll go down the main street of the city − Paseo de la Reforma, visit the central square − the Zocalo, the second largest square in the world, where these days the city hall holds exhibition of altars, tzompantli, giant alebrijes − brightly colored figures of fantastic animals made of papier mache.

Next you will visit the ancient religious center of Mesoamerica − Teotihuacan. It was founded over 1,400 years before the Aztec empire ascended. So far, a thorough archaeological survey did not answer when, why and by whom it was built. Even the death of the city is shrouded in mystery.

Here you’ll climb up the pyramid of the Sun, 65 m height, and the pyramid of the Moon, take a walk along the Road of the Dead.

Return to Mexico City. Accommodation at the hotel.

Day 2. Mexico City

A visit to the Museum of Dolores Olmedo Patino. It's a great place for those who wish to stay critics of painting and of art in general. You’ll not only familiarize with 137 most famous works of Diego Rivera, 25 works of Frida Kahlo and 43 works of Angelina Beloff, but also see the traditional altar dedicated to the memory of Doña Dolores Olmedo and her mother, Maestra Maria Patino, decorated with candles, flowers, marigolds, carved colored napkins, sugar skulls.

The Museum of Dolores Olmedo Patino on this day holds an annual carnival of Catherines – the women dressed in costumes of the "skeleton". The holiday is accompanied by folk music, colorful parades and spectacles.

Then you will walk on gondolas − trajineros on Lake Xochimilco. You will learn how the Aztecs built chinampas − floating gardens on which the locals continue to grow crops to this day.

On the gondola-trajinero you’ll taste the typical for this holiday dishes of Mexican cuisine.
