Description

From the capital, fulfilling such role for many centuries, you will move to the ancient city of Teotihuacan to see the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, built in the beginning of the era. Then you’ll visit to the ruins of the city of Tula, the former capital of the mighty empire of the Toltecs, and you’ll get acquainted with the Aztec civilization, fallen under the army of Spanish conquerors invaded the land of Mesoamerica in the XVI century. But the main idea of this tour is to visit the outback, to feel the rhythm of life and the unique atmosphere of the cities of Mexico, where the past and the present are closely intertwined.

You will visit the colonial cities – Queretaro, San Miguel de Allende, Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato, cozy and almost not changed over time. You will familiarize yourself with the town of Tequila, where the world-famous haciendas are producing fiery liquor from the agave plant. The tour gives you the opportunity to visit to Taxco, the city of silver, and to see the vast underground caverns of Cacahuamilpa and many other attractions of the cities and the magnificent landscapes of Mexico. You can finish the tour with staying in Acapulco or Cancun – two world-famous resorts.

Day 1. Mexico City

Arrival to the airport in Mexico City. Meeting at the airport, transfer and hotel accommodation "Casa Blanca" 4 * or the similar. A briefing with a Russian-speaking guide about the program.

Free time.

Day 2. A panoramic tour of the Mexico City and the pyramids of Teotihuacan

Breakfast at the hotel.

The visit of the city's main square Zocalo, the Cathedral, the Palace of President with murals by Diego Rivera, in which he narrates the history of Mexico from pre-Columbian times to the XX century. You will see the ruins of the pyramid Templo Mayor and hear the story of the bloody sacrifices of the Aztecs. Further, the way lies to the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon in Teotihuacan. The unknown and powerful civilization began a new era, currently baffling the scientists and researchers with high level of knowledge of mathematics and astronomy...

Return to the hotel.

Day 3. Mexico City – Tula – Queretaro – San Miguel de Allende (400 km)

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from the hotel.

A visit of the archaeological site Tula – he ancient capital of Tollan, built by mystical Toltecs. The temple of the Morning Star with the Atlanteans nearly 5-five-meter height of the pyramid and the images of eagles feeding on human hearts...

A visit of the city of Queretaro, familiarity with its churches, monasteries, famous aqueduct.

Arrival to San Miguel de Allende. Evening walk around the city of great beauty and pride of the Mexican people. Its stone-paved streets, magnificent facades of houses, churches and monasteries, the mix of styles from Gothic to Mudejar and luxurious facades of magnificent mansions make a lasting impression.

Accommodation at the hotel "Real de Minas" 4 * or similar.

Day 4. Dolores Hidalgo – Guanajuato – Guadalajara (370 km)

Breakfast. Departure from the hotel.

A visit of the town of Dolores Hidalgo, a sacred place for every Mexican. September 16, 1810 Miguel Hidalgo declared Mexico as free of Spanish colonialism. Since September 16th is celebrated in Mexico as the Day of Independence.

The journey will continue in the colorful town of Guanajuato known for its mines, now transformed to the underground streets with their roads, traffic lights and parking. The city declared a World Heritage by UNESCO. It is known for its unique beauty, and has a great cultural, historical and socio-political significance. It is famous for the Museum of Mummies and narrow Kisses Side Street...

Arrival to Guadalajara. Accommodation in a 4* hotel.

Day 5. Guadalajara – Tlaquepaque – Tequila

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from the hotel.

A tour in the center of Guadalajara, the second largest city of Mexico. You will see the Cathedral, the shelter "Kabanos" with frescoes of the famous artist Clemente Orozco "Heritage of Humanity", Liberation Square, the theater Degollado etc.

The market in Tlaquepaque is one of the most famous places in Mexico where you can buy handicrafts.

Then the tour will continue to the town of Tequila, where a drink that became a symbol of Mexico and its national pride is produced. You can learn the secret of cooking, taste and buy a bottle of tequila right at the factory as a gift to friends or relatives.

Return to the hotel.

Day 6. Guadalajara –  the Janitzio Island  – Patzcuaro – Morelia (395 km)

Breakfast at the hotel.

The journey will be continued in the state of Michoacan. You’ll go boating on Lake Patzcuaro. On the Janitzio Island you will taste the white fish that has a mild, delicate flavor; you’ll see the picturesque villages and visit the city of Patzcuaro. This small city is considered as one of the most beautiful colonial cities of Mexico.

In the evening transfer to the "Pink City" – Morelia. The historic center of Morelia is under the protection of UNESCO.

Accommodation in a 4* hotel.

Day 7. Morelia – Cuernavaca – Xochicalco – Taxco (400 km)

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from the hotel.

You will see the magnificent panorama of the volcano Nevado de Toluca, whose height is 4680 meters above sea; you’ll visit the "City of Eternal Spring" – Cuernavaca, you’ll familiarize yourself with the architecture of the Franciscan monastery, built in the XVI century. Also you’ll inspect the ruins of a powerful ceremonial center of the Toltecs who were dignifying to their supreme deity – Feathered Serpent Quetzalcoatl.

In the evening – arrival and accommodation at the hotel "Taxco" 4*.

Day 8. Taxco – the caves of Cacahumilpa – Acapulco (or Cancun)

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from the hotel.

Taxco is the silver capital of the world... Here you will find more than 3,500 stores and shops selling silver products. During the Christmas holidays Taxco sells 1.5 tons of silver jewelry for every taste! At the world's fairs silver masters of this city always take the prize. White houses under red tile roofs climb up the slopes of the mountains. Lacy towers of the church of Santa Prisca show pink in the blue sky... The charm of frozen time...

The caves of Cacahumilpa are millions of years old! Huge stalactites and stalagmites create unique images, illuminated with colored lights.

Option 1. Departure to Acapulco (2,5 hours). A short tour will be ended with the divers show "La Quebrada". Transfer to the hotel. On the way back – a transfering to the airport is independent. Taxi is booked at the hotel.

Option 2. Transfer to the airport of Mexico City (2.5 hours), where you will make a flight to Cancun (airfare not included). Self-service (round trip) to the hotel in Cancun. Taxi is booked at the hotel.
