Description

Guatemala's largest lake reaches a depth of 18 m. The lake and its shores are inhabited by manatees, howler monkeys, and various kinds of birds. At the site where the Rio Dulce leaves the lake, the remains of the Castle of San Felipe are preserved. It was built in the colonial period as a defense against pirates. At the time, the trade of products produced in the interior of the country was made on the lake. The frames of sunken ships are also preserved here.

The German mathematician Joachim Rittsteig claims to have clued the Mayan code. The German scientist said that his sensational discovery is made on the basis of interpretation of one of the 4 Mayan manuscripts miraculously escaped destruction in the fires of the Spanish Inquisition. They are called as "Dresden Codex" and are stored in Dresden. To make his work, the scientist took more than 40 years.

The "Dresden Codex" tells the story of a terrible earthquake of 666 BC. According to the scientist, as a direct result of this natural disaster the ancient capital of the Mayan, the city of Atila, went to the bottom. And this city is on bottom of the Izabal Lake.

Perhaps this discovery would have remained unnoticed, but a scientist says that at the bottom of the lake there is a great treasure – 2,156 gold tablets on which are engraved the laws of the Mayan civilization. He estimates its cost at $ 290 million. The studies carried out using an echo sounder showed that at the bottom of the lake actually is an ancient city. Rittsteig is looking for sponsors to organize expeditions to Latin America to search for gold of Mayas.

However, the Government of Guatemala and the authoritative researchers of Mayas from around the world deny the news. But for several years the treasure hunters came on the lake. Perhaps you are the person who will be able to solve this puzzle and the Mayan treasures will be in your hands!
