The pyramids of Tikal, Copan platforms and temples, murals and sculptures of the ancient palaces of the rulers, and the tombs with the amazing paintings will delight any lover of antiquities. Architecture fans will be delighted by visiting the ancient capital of Guatemala – Antigua; ecotourism lovers will get an unforgettable experience of a high mountain lake Atitlan and the National Park of Rio Dulce.

Day 1. Guatemala

Arrival to Guatemala. Meeting at the airport. Transfer to Antigua. Accommodation at the hotel. Briefing with a Russian-speaking guide about the program.

Day 2. Antigua


Tour of the colonial city of Antigua, declared UNESCO Cultural Heritage of Humanity. It is one of the most beautiful cities in America. During the colonial period, Antigua was the capital of the Kingdom of Guatemala, which consisted of the south of modern Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. A visit of La Merced Church, convent of Capuchins and the city's cathedral.

Return to the hotel.

Day 3. Antigua – Chichicastenango – Panajachel


A trip to Chichicastenango, a visit to the famous market and the Temple of Holy Thomas.

A trip to Panajachel, a small town of pre-Columbian era, located between the eponymous river and Atitlan Lake.

Optionally, you can taste the local fish.

Accommodation at the hotel.

Day 4. Panajachel – Atitlan Lake – Guatemala


An excursion on the boat on Atitlan Lake. A panoramic tour of Santiago de Atitlan, the largest city of the Mayas in Central America, still inhabited by the descendants of the ancient tribe. A visit to the sanctuary of the Mayan deity.

Return to Guatemala.

Day 5. Guatemala (the city tour) – Copan (Honduras)


The city tour of Guatemala. Walk across the Reforma Street to the historic center, a visit to the National Palace of Culture, a visit to the main square.

Crossing the border of Guatemala – Honduras.

Arrival to Copan.

Day 6. Copan (Honduras) – Quirigua – Livingston


A trip to the archaeological site of Copan – Mesoamerican Athens. Here you will see a stone stele, stairs, and the main square of the ancient city.

Return to Guatemala. On the way to Rio Dulce – a visit to Quirigua.

Arrival to Livingston.

Day 7. Livingston – Rio Dulce – Flores


A journey through the Rio Dulce. You will see the caves, canyons, amazing flora and beautiful birds, as well as the fortress of San Felipe, which was once a hiding-place for sailors, skulking from the pirates of the Caribbean Sea.

Moving to the Peten.

Day 8. Flores – Tikal – Guatemala


Transfer to Tikal National Park, founded in May 1955. In 1979, it was declared UNESCO Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The first settlement at Mayan Tikal dates to the year 800 BC. It is a unique monument of ancient history and culture.

A visit of the Museum of steles.

Transfer to the airport. Flight to Guatemala.

Arrival to Guatemala. Accommodation at the hotel.

Day 9. Guatemala

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport. Departure from the country.
