The land of Tarahumara: a journey trough the Copper Canyon, 5 days/ 4 nights

Nature and adventure lovers are waited for an unforgettable, fascinating journey from Chihuahua to the Pacific Ocean on the train"El Chepe". It will get you all over the Copper Canyon, cut by rocky slopes of the Sierra Madre in northwest Mexico. This place is one of the most beautiful and interesting in the country. Wild and impenetrable Copper Canyon is a home for beautiful people – the Tarahumara Indians.

Day 1. Chihuahua

Fligth to Chihuahua, the capital of the largest and one of the richest states in Mexico. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.

If time permits, you will have a city tour: a visit of the Cathedral of Archbishop, magnificent Baroque facade of which hides a skilled interior of gold and marble; a visit of the Palace of the Governor, the Museum of the Revolution, also known as House-Museum of Pancho Villa – national rebel who became a general.

Return to the hotel. Free time.

Day 2. Chihuahua – Creel – Divisadero

05:15 – transfer to the railway station Chihuahua. A fascinating journey by the train through the land of Tarahumara Indians waits for you.

11:20 – arrival to Creel, the old town of woodcutters, surrounded by pine forests. You’ll have a tour of Creel, a visit of the picturesque lake Arareco, of the abandoned mining town and caves inhabited by Tarahumara – local Indians who have kept their language, culture and traditions.

Transfer by car to Divisadero. Accommodation at the hotel. Free time.

Day 3. Divisadero – Bauchivo

Breakfast.

Guided tour: a visit of the "balancing" stone Piedra Volada, the park "Barrancas del Cobre"; the travel by cable car over the abyss of canyon.

Moving to Divisadero station at 12:45 and continuing of travel by train to Bauichivo station.

14:30 – arrival to the station Bauichivo. Transfer to the village of Cerocahui – a paradise for nature lovers. Accommodation in a comfortable hotel. Free time.

Day 4. Bauchivo – Los Mochis

Breakfast at the hotel.

Tour in Urique Canyon, on the sight decks of which you’ll have and unforgettable fabulous view: the broken line of cliffs, dizzy gorges, lush forests. The depth of the canyon is up to 1879 m.

Time for lunch.

14:30 – departure from the station Bauichivo.

20:30 – arrival to Los Mochis. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 5. Los Mochis

Breakfast. Departure from the hotel.

Note:

• The tourists should be on station of train "El Chepe" 30 minutes before the departure of the train;

• The program can be started in Los Mochis and ended in Chihuahua on the request of tourists;

• At the end of the tour we recommend you the rest on the Pacific coast of California Peninsula (Mexico).
